Omega General Help / Handbrake is crap.. how to tighten?
« on: 03 June 2009, 02:27:03 »
Hey again everyone :)
Don't worry, i'm pretty sure this is the last little niggle i have (for now  :D) to annoy you all with.

The handbrake is really no good, if i'm parked on a slight incline and i pull the handbrake up, the car will roll. I have to use both hands to pull it up as far as it'll go before it actually sticks when i'm on a slope.

Is there any easy way to tighten it up? Or can anyone point me in a direction for a how to?

Thanks,
Phil

Omega General Help / Changing Diff Oil
« on: 02 June 2009, 08:15:17 »
Hey all,

it's about time i changed my diff oil, so i'm just looking for a quick couple of answers:

1)Any specific recommendations for the viscosity?
2)To save me putting the car up on stands only to find i don't have the right tool, can anyone tell me what i need to take out the bung? Is it a hex or something like on the sump nut?

 :) thanks,
Phil

Omega General Help / Power steering issue
« on: 02 June 2009, 08:22:34 »
Hey again all ;) (I'll stop making topics for the day after this one lol)

My power steering only works when i'm in gear and accelerating. Needless to say, in a car that weighs as much as an omega, this makes parking a bit of a nuisance at times lol
There is enough fluid in the system, so it's not that.

Is this a common fault, and what can i do about it?

Thanks,
Phil

As a temporary fix you could put the fan running constant - if you do bridge the connection with a 30amp fuse it won't burn the fan out :)

Omega General Help / airlocked - how to bleed?
« on: 31 May 2009, 06:01:39 »
Hey everyone,

it's looking like the coolant system on my omega is airlocked, but i can't find a bleed nipple anywhere?

Don't suppose anyone has a picture of where it is or could explain it to me?  :)
Also, more a matter of interest than anything else, how much coolant does the omega system hold?

Thanks in advance,
Phil
