Also check out on fleabay "bmw diesel hot start fix" approx £29.95 + £2.95 p&p, bought one for my tractor, BRILL. It fools engine so glow plugs come on, I then wait 5 secs after glow plugs, turn key and hey-presto. Little black box with 4 wires, if I can do it, anyone can.  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Aftermarket radio ?
« on: 19 August 2009, 18:04:17 »
Found out an mp3/cd radio today, forgot I had it, one I had in my MGF before I sold it. Fitted if in the Mig but can't use the steering wheel controls. Still I can reach the extra foot to get to the controls so all is ok now. Thanks anyway and keep up the good work.  :) :y :) :y :) :y

Are there any aftermarket stereos with either cd or mp3 playback that anyone can recommend that will still work with the controls on the steering wheel ?  :)

Hi.
Can anyone help? My radio goes "scratchy" when I switch my heated rear window on. Ok when not using the Window heater though.
Thanks.

Where can you lose nearly 15 ltrs of AFT oil to.
It's got to go somewhere :-/

Take the sumps off, but be careful of over 20 ltrs gushing out :o :o :o

Mick ;)

Lol, if there was that much in there it would come out of the fill hole when I took the plug out. I really haven't a clue, autobox plays up so I get it topped up and it's then ok again, God knows where it is going, got loads of us stumped  :(

whats the history with this? has the box been serviced to your knowledge? how did the problem become apparent? has it been refurbed or re moved from the car? etc.

I've had the car 12 months now, just had the 3rd top up (nearly 5 litres each time), looked in history file and nothing there about any gearbox work. No signs of a leak anywhere. Doing my head in  :(

Is the breather connected and correctly positioned?

Yep, had a mechanic friend check it while he topped it up, it has done his head in.

Omega General Help / Losing ATF, but where?
« on: 27 April 2010, 18:07:57 »
Hi guys, (oops!! and girls).
Haven't been on for a while but have a wierd problem with my mig. Twice this year I've had to top up the ATF in the auto gearbox, both occasions taking close on 5 litres. No leaks anywhere, driveway is bone dry, under the car is dry. Topped up with engine running and on a flat surface, mates garage ramp. Has anyone any idea where the fluid could be going? Even a local autobox specialist is baffled.
Cheers all,
Steve  :y
