Hi all.

I mothballed the old 3ltr Elite for a few months so disconnected the battery. When I put it back on the road recently the handbook with the radio codes had disappeared.

My wife has been driving the car and yesterday she found the handbook so happily I go to unlock the raio and cd changer.. no go.

She tells me that she has been "messing about" pushing buttons.. argggg.

It's a 700 radio and I can only get as far as "radio safe" but there is no confirmation beep followed by code input. I suspect it's gone beyond the magical 10 attempts. Any suggestions please? and what do you do if you go beyond the 10 attempts?

Yours in desperation coz the Mrs says she can't drive without music.... also it shuts her up while she drives me places  :)

Hi all.

I have a T reg Omega V6 Elite which looks like it is going to need a new battery fitted.

I have done this before but I am pretty sure there is some rigid sequence that should be used when replacing the battery. Trouble is I can't remember what it is. Having just forked out over £1000 to get it through MOT I don't want to do anything that will end up costing me more than it needs to.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

You are a star mate  :)

I really appreciate the help

Thanks to your help on here I have taken the old battery out with no probs  :)

Look at my nic here... yup that's me  No..knowledge  :-[

The Mrs is out atm picking up a new battery from Halfords  Another £72 spent on this car :(   Oh well.

Anyway is there anything special to do putting the new battery in. Pos first then neg I believe. Anything other than that I need to do?

Cheers folks.

I will get round to filling in profile a bit more etc but I am away from tomorrow morning to go fly my glider in a competition for 2 weeks. :)  The gliding was one of the main reason I bought the 3 ltr V6 Elite. For towing the trailer out of all the fields I end up landing in  :(  FAB car when it works.

Hi all.

For some time now I have been slowly losing coolant on my Elite V6 3ltr. No rise in temp etc for a long time. I could find no leaks but the loss gradually increased so I began to suspect CH gasket. Took the car to a local garage who (Supposedly) did a compression and dye test and was told I needed new gaskets at a cost of around £1500.00 fitted!!!

Last week I drove 60 miles and got almost total loss and temp rise. Let it cool down and refilled and noticed a leak right at the back of engine. Popped it to a nearby garage run by an honest guy and got the prob fixed for £72.00!!!  It was a plastic valve with I think 4 hoses. The valve had gradually siezed up and finally closed. I think it may be inlet/outlet to heater matrix. I was in a hurry so didn,t really get to find out exactly what the valve does but it sits at top of engine at the rear near the bulkhead.

I thought I would post this in case anyone else gets the same problem/symptoms.

Cheers
