Omega Electrical and Audio Help / ipod fm transmitter for idiots
« on: 25 September 2009, 21:46:28 »
Right, I seen a thread about transmitters a while back and I gather that the wired ones are the best?

If so is it something like this I'm looking for. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wired-car-stereo-FM-Modulator-Transmitter-iPod-MP3-CD_W0QQitemZ170383154267QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CE_MP3Access_RL?hash=item27aba09c5b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

break >:(

Any idea how much the gasket costs. I doubt I could afford it ATM or to keep feeding it with oil :'(

Is there no way to seal it from the outside?  :-/

just had a look under the car, oil is leaking from the sump sensor at the connection. The plastic connector feels loose in the sump.

Someone please tell me that the bottom half of the sump doesn't have to come off to tighten/seal it, because it looks that way as there are no bolts on the outside  :(

Omega General Help / Hot starting problem
« on: 23 April 2010, 23:16:50 »
Strange one this, after reaching normal running temp my engine runs perfect.

But if its been stopped for a few seconds its a bit of a struggle to start, just as i turn the key the engine turns over as if the battery is dead i have to wait a bit to try again but after a couple of seconds it just turns over normally.

Pain in the arse if i stall it.

Could the starter be overheating or a dodgey connection :-?

The battery is fine  :(

AFAIK the crank sensor only ever causes a lack of go not too much.................

I would start by cleaning the idle control valve and breathers.

Will do :y If it clears up that is :-/

Petrol or diseasal?

The classic cause of diesels 'running away' is oil carry over from a blown turbo seal. :o :o

Nope, it doesn't have a moustache and its not called Brian ::)

Omega General Help / Crank sensor on its way out?
« on: 29 November 2009, 14:18:22 »
Got a phone call from the old man last night, he said his 2.5 was revving on its own up as far as 5000rpm but went away after a while. Havent had a chance to look at it myself (not in this wheather anyway). Is it early signs of a crank sensor?

Its a 1998 gls and there's 97k on the clock and AFAIK it still has its original sensor so that must be a record ::)

Withu all the rain over the last week today I noticed with the heater fan switched on there's a strange noise comming from behind the passenger footwell that sounds like boiling water and then goes when the fan is switched off. :-?
Souds like ghe heater box has water in it. There is a plug inside the box on the right hand side, just push it out annd the box will empty its self when you go round a corner. :y

Cheers, will have a look in the morning :y
