as its a drift car im not to worried abot fuel economy
Well why the didnt you say so? And you will be when you go half as quick for almost twice the fuel. Imho;
1, vxr8, failing that,
2, stick a bigger lump in it,
3, supercharger(search you tube)
4, Noz
5, stop mincing about with intake lad, you need cubes!
Haha yeah stick a big chevvy V8 in these....or supercharger...if you have a spare 2K to spend!
Seriously though, like Kev said leave the intake alone. The multi rams are configured to give the engine optimum torque and flexibility throughout the rev range so if you remove it or start blocking the flaps open/closed you will ruin the torque curve and lose driveability. :-/
As yours is a 3.0 it has the restrictive cast iron exhaust plenum/manifold. DOC is right, a custom made exhuast would be ideal, but a cheaper option would be to swap your ones for the improved pressed steel items that were fitted to the 2.6 and 3.2 engines, de cat it, and remove the mid section silencers too...then after all that, remap to take advantage of the improved flow. There is minor scope for improvement with the throttle bodies too
there is little/nothing you can do to the intake to improve power imho, thats something GM did a good job of on the x30xe.
best place to look is the exhaust, I think. there is no manifold, just a plenum instead. If you can get a proper 3 to 1 manifold made up for each side, even if only a simple one, you should get a huge improvement in power... I don't know of anyone who has actually bothered mind...
The other option is to try and make the car lighter... LOL
