Omega General Help / Re: Omega 2.2 idle
« on: 15 August 2009, 12:36:10 »
Last time I was at dealer the egr valve was out and they said it was good. Mine is also at LPG, do you see a big increase in consumption comparative to gas?

Do you know how my dealer can confirm if its a potenciometer problem on the car?
Is it possible its an Siemens ECU failure? I have read that this happens quite often.

Thanks

Well bad news keep coming.  A new MAF was tested and the problem persists. The intake and throttle valve was cleaned and the car has the same problem.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Thanks for the help

Actually I have ordered a MAF on ebay but hasn't arrived yet to try.
I forgot to say that when the car was on the shop they found the spark plugs wells full of oil and have replaced the gasket.
Thanks for the help, I think I will find the solution here and do it my self, I have been in 2 dealers in the last 4 weeks and I  they have been very incompetent.

Regards

Omega General Help / Omega 2.2 idle

Hello guys,

I really need some help here. My Omega 2.2 from 2000 has an erratic idle, the revs keep going up and down, sometimes the engine cuts out, looks like its misfiring, smells like unburnt gas on the exhaust and it vibrates a lot.
When running the vibration disappears, runs smooth but lacks power.
Opel says its the ignition coil, but i have tested it in a lab and it has over 40 kV output voltage, no problems.
The error codes are P100, P110 and P170.

Do you have any idea what might be wrong since my dealer doesn't.

Thanks for the help
