Omega General Help / Am I crazy....

Hi all and thanks for reading.
Im going to look at an Omega 3.0 V6 Elite tomorrow, 1 owner from new, 50,000 FSH. AUTO. Year 2000.
I'd just like to know an ''honest'' opinion and general concensous on these cars. Of course you guys are going to be biased.
a - Im mainly frightened to death about fuel. I have book figures of 23mpg on an auto. What do we reckon? I read on some ads, guys and girls say they get 28 round town...? My driving will be mainly round town. Ive also read its purely how you drive as to mpg and 30 is easily obtainable?
b - Anything particular to check over when I go look at it, main problems?
c - General concensous on AUTO's? Of course Id like a manual, but theyre rare as rocking horse ****!!!
