The money my company save by me choosing the Dover ferry price difference i gain in my wage packet. Same on tolls. I don't pay for fuel it's all on a company fuel card. My route is via my in laws in Walton upon Thames to collect my sons birthday presents then via Angers to La Rochelle. The trip works out around 640. Just a tipo error on my behalf. Also don't like sitting on a boat for hours twiddling my thumbs that's the other reason for the Dover ferry.
As for wear and tear, tyres, mileage etc i claim back via the company i work for instead of having a company car

After over a months working 7 days a week in lecturing the British and French Navy's at Pompy dock am finally off home. Been living out of 3 suitcases at my parents home in their tiny little box room in Selsey. The cars all packed up,Fuel tank is full and a packed lunch(thanks Mum.
Booked on the 16:00 ferry at Dover for the 840 mile run back home. Should arrive at my door around 03:30. Once at home ive got one weeks work to do then off for a three weeks holiday on the African coast relaxing with the family and a spot of fishing.

See you all in a couple of months time and hopefully the weathers a bit better then.

I regularly drive to Walton upon Thames in Surrey overnight when my wife stays at her Bothers place. Then drive back the same evening after a few hours kip. A total of 1674 miles round trip. On the boring bits i use cruise control the rest with a gentle foot. The mig just eats the miles up with no problem. On the run sitting around 80mph ish fully loaded i still get about 33 -35 mpg. If i sit around 70mph the car seems to us a tad more gas. I've got to give one more tutorial at Pompy navy base in the morning then fill the flask and a couple of sandwiches, then am off home to France for a well earned rest.

Try A&D Autos in Durban road Bognor. He paid out a fortune on a new Hunter machine last year. He's done 2 of my cars. Free check and does a bloody good job. Most of the main dealers us him now. IRC he charged around £50 for 4 wheel alignment
See the owner Alex and tell him Iain sent you, you may get a discount. 01243 870600. Highly recommended.

What is alarming is the car has full VX history but no mention of a cambelt change  :o

Car is now on 140k so I'm hoping to god it's at least had one done in it's life.

Thanks for the advice everyone  ;)  :y

My Mig has full Vx service history too. No mentions of cam belt change in the service book either but the print out job receipts go in to more details inc cam belt.

Saw one of these sell at Sandown auto auctions a few years ago. Fully restored in mint condition, original owner. The wife wanted it, so i bid up to 5k. The car went for 14k in the end. She ended up with a old Fiat Aberth 500 instead
