Omega General Help / Re: Temperature hiccup
« on: 03 August 2010, 20:28:08 »
Just towed my caravan for the first time on a hottish day. Reading all the previous posts has given me an idea: since my aircon does'nt work ( I don't need it ) why can't I remove the air con rad which will allow far more air to hit the main cooling rad ? it was running into a head wind showing just under 95 degrees at times. Would also let the fans do more good. Any comments guys ?

Omega General Help / Re: tracking centralisation
« on: 31 May 2010, 14:18:17 »
Had a look underneath, that Pitman arm faces forward when the steering wheel is set for ahead. The left track-rod adjust sleeve has 15 mm thread showing each end of it, the right hand only 12 each side. Maybe I'm too critical ? It still has a very very light pull to the left and I remember having to screw the left well out and the right well in to get the wheels dead ahead with the steering set to the middle of its turns lock to lock. At least it's stopped scrubbing tyres.

Omega General Help / tracking centralisation
« on: 30 May 2010, 17:21:03 »
Hello all, my 1991 2.5td estate needed l/h track rod ends recently.Whilst off, I centred the steering wheel and found the wheels were well off dead ahead. To sort it before going for proper alignment, I had to pull all the left adjust right in and the right side right out. It,s as though the steering rack is out of place by 25mm. It had a new idler before I bought it, but I can't see how that could put it all across. If anyone can give me some ideas to look at I,ll go and get oily!
Regards, Terry

Hello Omega owners,
new member in the Hull area.
Bought  a 1998 2.5td cdx estate, PSI chip, bit tatty but seems basically sound, drives nice though. I'm sure to be asking questions soon although a scan of the forum has already been a great help,Haynes manual off ebay on the way in.

General Car Chat / MOT failure
« on: 03 September 2010, 14:42:13 »
My 2.5td manual estate has failed MOT by a very finniky tester.Nothing major, just a longish list. I just have'nt the time or inclination to do it. It has a transferable reg L66 DJM
and is a 1998 with LSD , bose speakers (its A CDX).It will MOT OK when done, chipped, no problem with smoke test, good manual box, still taxed. Does anyone want to take the lot as is for a reasonable sum or do I have to start grafting ?
Call ,most times , 01482 656461, Cheers, Terry
