water looks fine, no signs of any oil or anything, doesnt seem to be any water flow but will check water pump tomorrow. thanks

Hi on my way home from work this morning the temperature suddenly when right up and the warning light came on as I was on a dual carageway with no where to stop put in neutral and started to coast the temp then dropped and light went off so up in drive again and sure enough the temp started to rise again. ?? so did this to get me home
Checked water and oil when it had cooled down and found nothing wrong. Any ideas ??

Always disconnect negative side of the battery as it just depends on where the alternator rotor has stopped you may be unlucky and it will damage the rectifyer if in the wrong place.

watch out when removing and fitting the electrical conecting plugs as you can easily bend the conectors or push the socket into the gearbox (especially if the plastic on the socket as gone fragile)

Third omega v6 I have had each one at some point I have needed to change the head gaskets may be running on lpg causing the problems or just the mileage I do each car has been over 150 thou. (always at the speed limit  ;) )

going to try and see if they fit as being multi layered steel they will act like the uprated ones you can get for k series rover engines .As driving hard for 70 miles a day means head gaskets only  seam to last 12 months (running on gas as well.) :y

Been given 2.6 head gaskets for nothing but have not started to strip heads off my car yet so was just checking if anyone knew before I started.

Hi can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a 2.5 and a 2.6 cylinder head gasket ?
Also my 2000 2.5 omega as started used lots of oil (no leaks) but oil light started to come on went warm on tick over but goes out if revs increased slightly any ideas ?

Second hand radio out of the car in the yard no paper work with the car, therefore no hope of the car pass :'(
