General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 26 August 2013, 00:41:12 »
Well where do I start?

I saw VXL & TB pull apart one broken Omega then dismantle another Omega, to make one nice Omega and the other that looks like it needs to go to the scrap yard!!

That sounded like a good productive day, until I broke mine!

I was nearly at Telford about 40 miles from home, just got off the motorway when my Ben (my omega) decided that he had enough and wanted to be towed back home by the RAC.  Ben is now known as Bastard Ben!!  I was only saying to TB how much I loved my car.  I should of just kept my mouth shut.

Well sorry to say - VXL V6 you may have a busy bank holiday on your hands, sorry.  LOVE YOU X

Technically it is not what I have done to my car today it is what VXL V6 has done today to my car!

One door card removed, dried out, a little attention put back together and one annoying rattle gone.
Car washed.

Now one happy Mrs VXL V6
Thank you
 :)
Can he fix my 4 rattly doors ;D
I think he has got enough to do with his own 3.2, one broken 2.2, my 2.2 and looking for another Omega!  ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Tracking.........
« on: 04 September 2011, 16:45:05 »
Sorry, tracking is only a quarter of your problem, you need camber, castor and toe setup as well on on an Omega. As Chris says, Camber is the main issue on these cars and there a two factors that affect this, worn wishbone bushes and GM's incredibly wide factory spec which at best is barely acceptable when the car left the factory.

There are a known set of parameters that are known to work well on these cars that have been developed by Wheelsinmotion.

NB. Any place that sells purely tracking needs to be asked 'what is your reference point that you are tracking too and how do you know it's static and correct'.

That sounds reassuring for both the DTi's then as neither has those symptoms!

Incidently, the bite point on the Estate's clutch is much more defined after burning it a little bit reversing up a field with the caravan attached on wet grass up a slope.  ::) ;D

Hmm wet grass >:( slipperiest substance known to road tyres!!mud and snow tyres on the back would be easier!!! ;D ;D

The smell of burning clutch lingers for a little while!  ;D

Jane was busy telling me that she hoped I hadn't ruined THE clutch.... then I reminded her that it's HER clutch, mine is on the driveway in Solihull....  ;D

Yes indeed what a smell, you need laugh about it!  I will have to get my own back at some point!!  Mr VXL V6 why do you keep the key for the 3.2 hidden?

Errr ummm,

Hello my love..

It's not hidden... there's just no point leaving it handy 'cause the temptation is too great..... You are welcome to use it - currently needs 70L of V Power in it though....  ;D
No problem I'll put fuel in it if I know where the key is, but their is a problem the 3.2 does not have a clutch!! :o
