Actually do have the serial number (well a number off the headlight unit anyway) it is:

W5W PY21W 90 566 797 LH

Does this add anything to the diagnosis of HID or normal?

Jimbob - thanks yours looks the most likey to suceed in the remote method.

Andy H - I really like your answer but i think i might have difficulties in encouraging her to open the bonnet, but i will store it for when i can get over to her.

So the headlight washers and height adjusting dial. does that indicate HID or just normal halogen throughout?

Strong vauxhall family, myself a Sigum my sister a Omega.

It is the omega that i need some help on, she needs to know if her car has xenon lights or not. I always thought it did but not 100%. Anyway i can not get to her car to have a good investigation so is there an easy, full proof, way to tell if it has xenon or just normal lights?

It is 1999 2.5 CDX.

Hi there to everyone. I don't have an Omega so i feel a bit of a fraud but my sister does and I partaking in some of the maintenace while her husband is away. (Fighting the elite Al-Queda naval units - oops think i may of said too much - burn after reading ok) Anyway so i am here on her behalf, hope that is ok.

I have a Signum myself, not sure if that is going to ingratiate myself with you guys, or make it worse.
