Always wondered why sellers insist on showing themselves in the reflection in the cars bodywork when posting photos on tinterweb......

At least this one's fully clothed.

I'll have you know that that pasty white belly has taken years of dedicated work

Hi TB, yes the screen is black / white with the GPS icon in the top right-hand corner which can be green, amber or red dependant on signal.
However the screen remains the same regardless of the lights being on or off, all my displays do fractionally dim when the lights are turn on.

Do you think I need an update? :-?

Hi TB, how come you’re CID has a clear red griffin when in stand by; “looks ok” mine on the other hand is a very pale white which you can hardly see!!

Hi Ksareen, got your PM thanks I am not sure what the T stands for.

The screen I bought was just the LQ5AW136 which is a 5” display.
Below is a link to sharps website showing the specs for this screen?

May be the boy will be able to help you more.

Hi wingman, the boy gave me a couple of links, both on fleebay one was in Germany and the other was in Canada I went for the later option.
I have just looked now and he’s got loads of these screens up for grabs, link below.

Hello all, I have now put the new screen in and rebuilt the unit and works a treat.
All that remains is for me to say thank you to all the members who have help me with this project without which I would not have known were to start.
Thanks again to The Boy for loads of info, and on how to get hold of a screen when most places I tried were out of stock.

I will keep the screen TB do you think we may find a master repairer of these

Hi TB, got the new screen today well went and fetched it from parcel force in Stoke on Trent around a 30 mile trip. They would have posted it but that may have taken a day or two, needed to get it up and running before going back to work.

Had to pay VAT on the item and a handling charge to parcel force £24, but still ok really overall cost £144.
I have put the old screen back in to take a picture of the scrambled screen but is now only displaying the blank white screen so have taken a couple of pics of these if you want them links below.
I am now going to put the new screen in and try it out will post the outcome later.

O yes my old panel is behaving itself!!! If I was lucky on starting up in the morning the screen would come on clear as a bell, but in my mind I would here the Sat Nav voice say:
“You now have 10 seconds to change the radio station before self destruction, please make a little u turn”  lol.

Hi all, just as an update, thanks to the boy who gave me the info I was able to buy/win a Brand new screen in original factory sealed bag.
Good price about £120 including postage.
Will keep you posted when it arrives.
Will take some pictures of unit when replacing the screen and then post them up.
