Omega General Help / 1 second power loss's
« on: 10 February 2010, 16:24:06 »
hi, i have a post on here already under 'cold starts' (to give u a bit of background on my problem).

anyway relating to this problem i have with my car, im now getting 1 second power cuts when driving the car along with the other problems im having with it! after changing the dis pack, spark plugs, cam sensor and throttle body and doing a diagnostic again, its come bk with just a cam sensor fault? (previously it was a missfire on 2 cylinders, o2 sensor, circuit, rid) although obviously ive already had this changed??? im confused!
the powercuts are bothering me alot as ive got visions of me breaking down on the motorway lol. what cud be the cause of the power cuts? and y is it still saying i hv a cam sensor fault? vx cheaked it over originaly but said they wanted to keep it for abit longer at a cost of £95 to find out what the exact problem is, but i am reluctant to take it back and would like to think i cud fix it myself? wot do u think shud i take it back to vx or change the sensor again myself?...........any advice wud be great guys as i am at my wits end with this and also i hv a holiday booked in devon but i am unsure of the darn thing getting us there lol!!

Omega General Help / Re: Newbie Needing Help - Cold Starting.

hi people, thanks for those ideas!
well i took it to a local garage and plugged it in there, the same fault codes came up as what did at vx, the bloke said that all of the fault codes could be syptoms of the missfire so advised to change the spark plugs. replaced them with bosch ones and plugged it back in, this time all other fault codes had gone apart from the camsensor fault code?
ive had the following changed on it: dis pack, throttle body, camsensor, spark plugs. so seen as though ive already had the camsensor changed im not happy to pay for this to be done again!
i was thinking mabey hving a look at the engine myself but im not sure where to find the sensors and what i shud be looking for on them?? could anyone help me with this please?
also i did unplug the maf and the car seemed to sound sweet....but i hvnt done this from a cold start yet! the car is still poping and spluttering when started in the mornings and i hv to leave it to 'warm up' before setting off, if i was to set off before giving it time i wud have my foot to the floor and the car wud go but only at 10mph it has NO life/energy!! it also loses power for split seconds when being driven? please someone help me,, ive got a feeling its something simple lol!

Omega General Help / Newbie Needing Help - Cold Starting.
« on: 17 January 2010, 20:59:43 »
Hi,
I'm new to the world of Omega ownership. I have been given a 2.2 cd by my father in law as he has bought himself a new one.
This one has been having problems starting from cold and running badly for the first five minutes or so in a morning. After that it idles well but is rather underpowered. It has been on the diagnostics at Vauxhall and has come back with a few fault codes.
I have been reading posts on here for the last week or so trying to get some ideas of what may be causing the problems but i think i could do with some ideas from all the clever people amongst you. The fault codes that came back were:-

0650 - Control Circuit
0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire
0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire
0130 - 02 Sensor 1 Incorrect Circuit
0170 - RID Module

Any ideas would be much appreciated as i am a bit of a  novice to engines and the like but would like to think i am quite practical and being a bit cash strapped would like to know if it was something i could sort using the guides on here before sending it off to the garage

Thanks
