Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Battery

Thank you for your reply, as i put in £20 of petrol in it was still the same as before. However my friend called up on Saturday and found the problem, its not petrol its an HT Lead on number 1 plug as there was no spark. It was just coincidental that that lead was the problem not the fuel when it was running low. So as it be today i will buy a new lead and put it on, as i have prepared all the work ready for it to be replaced. Having done that i will keep you updated on this issue if thats ok?

Since as i described the battery problem i had and removed the Power Sounder as you mentioned, i have not had any problem started my car up till now. The next problem i have is running out nearly of petrol as the indicator on the dash was flashing, re-fuelled and now its missing. So as i aint got a manual for this car do you know where the fuel filter is located on my Vauxhall Omega Elite 1999 model? As its missing by it dragging up the mess from the bottom of the tank. Thank you.

Hi there, the power sounder has now been as you described been taken from it mount and then replaced back with the plug connectors not pluged in. So then the open ended electrical plugs were taped up and not in use for the power sounder and the attatched horn. This was done this morning and completed by 12 noon. Therefore as of todays date being 27 feb 10 i will not start the car for the next two days, and as stated before leaving the car for two days the battery is flat. So if my car starts on Tuesday 02/03/10 it then must be what you described, but if the battery is again flat it will then be another issue. I will let you know on or after that date if thats Ok?

I would have no reason to blame you anyway. I CHECKED THE BOOT LIGHT and there is no problem with that at all, i got things prepared ready to take out the plug feed for the power sounder/alarm, and where the drain holes are on the scuttle cover then lifted to see inside the plug feed which is on the top of the power unit, its directly below the rubber drain hole. As be it seen it was saturated with water, hence this may be causing the problem. As you said though i will disconnect the power sounder etc and then cover all open ended connectors with polythene bag and insulation tape, hopefully then this is the cause of the battery being drained? I will when done let you know OK?

Thank you for your information, i just went onto the link you sent me and printed it off. Therefore i will wait now for my battery to charge fully and then check as you said the boot light when dropping down the rear seats. The next thing i will do is on the link with the power sounder when the weather is better, and trust me as i will let you know the outcome of the one issue to do and or the other, so THANKS AGAIN.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Battery

I bought a Vauxhall Omega Elite a month ago and its 1999, When then used for three days all was ok, then when not used for one day after those three days the battery was flat. So i therefore bought a new one. Just last week the car was used from Wednesday to Saturday, on the Sunday not used all day but it started off the key, then not used on Monday or Tuesday being yesterday the new battery is flat when i went to use the car this morning. On the computer and on the dashboard its not showing a fault on all electrical stuff (eg) so i think it maybe some thing within the system that its draining the battery. Please let me know if anyone has an answer for this problem, as i have not had a vauxhall before? It maybe that there is a common fault with this type of car. Please let me know A.S.A.P. Thank you.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: x300_jgr RADIO CODE.
« on: 08 February 2010, 08:46:10 »
Thanks Dave for the link you sent me, as be the amount of attempts i made there will be 7 left, but the only thing is at the moment when the radio is switched on the is no display on the separate screen now, as before it said CODE_ _ _ _ 7 NOW IT DON'T, THEN IT SAID.....SAFE.... BUT NOW IT SHOWS NONE OF ABOVE. SO I HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE. ALSO THE SERIAL NUMBER IS IT NOT STAMPED ON THE METAL CASING OF THE UNIT, AND NOT WHAT I SENT YOU ON THE STICKER? IF SO I WILL HAVE TO TAKE OUT THE UNIT AS TO GET THE NUMBER THAT STARTS WITH 2 LETTERS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT BEFORE I GET THE CODE VIA EMAIL @£7.50. THANK YOU. :(

Thank you for your feed back, all you have said has earlier i just done that with no joy, i did have at the time when battery replaced have it saying enter code from attempts 1,2,3,4 and up till then gave up as on the sheet in the paper work i had when bought the car, it does have the code that i put in, but it must be the wrong one. So then what i done was just put in code 1111 as a guess, and then it shows SAFE, as from then can,t get it to say enter the 4 digit code. So on the internet there is plenty to get the code at a price of £2.99, so i think i will take the unit out to get the serial number and what you said the kind person left the code on the back. If you have another solution i would love to here it. Thank you.

Hello, as on my Omega Elite 1999 i had to remove the battery and it then lost the Radio Code, i only bought the car last Saturday and it did not come with the security pass card, got in touch with the seller to ask for the code and he don't want to get back to me. Anyway, as be it now its showing SAFE on the screen and using the AS key and then switch radio on and off it does nothing. So do you think that if i disconnect the battery again and then reconnect it will on the screen show to enter a code. Please let me know if you would please. Thank you.
