Yeah, tell me about it!  Had 4 Omegas, this is definitely the final one. Never known a car so fragile. I repect all the guys on here for keeping the faith but I'm afraid I lost it a long time ago.

It's been off the road since December 2008.  I gave up trying to fix it. The problem i have with it now is not the reason it was taken off the road. That is a long, long story!

Hope it is't the manifold gasket, it looks a right old rave to get off.
  Thanks again.

Thanks for replies. Unfortunately I haven't got the live data with me, its in the car at the garage. I can get it tomorrow. Thinking possible air leak myself, had a quick look but couldn't locate a leak. I'll have a better look tomorrow.
 Cheers.
Would I be correct in thinking that a big air leak would cause the the system to try and compensate by richening the mixture too much? Emissions were very high, 1250 at idle if i remember correctly.

Omega General Help / Maf sensor perhaps?

Hi everyone!
I hope somebody can help me if it all possible.
I have Omega 2.2 petrol, manual transmission. Engine is Y22XE.
Car has been off the road a long time, its along story so I won't eleborate!
Car is back on road now, but has a slight misfire at idle and up to about 1600rpm. At high engine speeds it is fine.
Took it for mot and diagnostics today. It failed the mot, emissions too high.
Fault codes were, P0100 Maf sensor signal too low and P0170 fuel trim system rich.
When pressing the throttle open from idle, car hesitates, I can hear like a pre-ignition knock, then takes an awful long time to drop back to idle. Exhaust sounds very 'splashy' and uneven on idle. I always thought this indicated a weak mixture but computer says rich.
Just a few pointers would be heelpful, I'm fairly hand with a voltmeter and some spanners, quite good at wielding a hammer too!
 Thanks.
