BUMP....

10 Days to go till event, FINGERS CROSSED WITH THE WEATHER.

We are astill having a great response to this event via other car clubs, and I wouldn't want any of you to miss it at all.

Even if you don't come as a CLUB, and you just want to pop down and see other forms of cars we will still take your £5.00 and allow you to park on the Random Turn-up area (All money goes to two great causes)

Just let me know either via PM or Email and I will inform our Marshal's to expect you and point you in the correct direction.

Kind Regards
Simon

Hi all,

I had a very positive site meeting with the RBL and the Council at WSM on 18 April. WSM intends to make as big a fuss as they can with the Mayor and the Chairman of the RBL turning out to meet us once we are settled in. I have agreed the laydown for the event with our RBL supporters.

The RBL Riders will be providing half a dozen or so outriders during our RFH convoy from Yeovil to WSM.

The Legion is providing their Mobile Display Unit (Google it if you want to see what it is like) which has a large screen in which our RFH video will be played on a loop.

There should be a mobile Punch and Judy show which will do a stint on the RFH Hardstand which should draw in members of the public and a mysterious Dragon Lady (the mind boggles!)
They will be sourcing local talent to provide us with live music; there will also be RBL’s Bike Radio and CDs if required.
There will be a local Market – comprising currently of 16 stalls – encapsulating the Spirit of Somerset immediately adjacent to our hard stand which will also include face painting.

The local classic car club is turning out in force as is the VW Camper Van Club.

Also a classic car convoy is coming down from Birmingham to join us!

Take up from other car clubs has been modest but those that have signed up are bringing lots of cars. We have so far:
Bristol FFOC - 25 cars
Jensons owners club - 15 cars
Subaru owners club (Bath Branch) - 15 cars
BMW Southwestern owners club - 10 cars
Ford ST club – 15-20 Cars
TVR club – about 15 cars
JAG - not sure on numbers (But estimate 10+)
Piston Heads – about 30+

We are awaiting replies from:
Cobra Sports Car Club (Forum)
Ferrari Owners Club (Bristol Area- Direct contact with HQ)
Lamboghini Owners Club (South West District)
Porsche Owners Club (National)
Aston Martin (Area 13 Somerset)
And the Weston-Super-Mare Endurance Car Club

We are still plugging away at Car Clubs and from experience if the weather is good many people will turn up at short notice as the WSM team are publicising this all over the City and exploiting the media as much as they can.

The bikes on the other hand show considerable promise; the RBL Riders often use the WSM Beach Lawns for meets and they have had up to 1200 bikes!

The RBL will be doing all the Marshalling and will be collecting on our behalf.

So thank you for reading and hope some of you can attend...

Regards
Simon

Is there any interest in this at all for the SUNDAY 6th MAY...

Weston Super Mare has plenty of attractions and it will allow you to bring the family out for a day to enjoy.

The event is being opened by SO FAR 25 of our Rally Team doing a convoy into Weston Super Mare being lead down the front by the Royal British Legion Motor Cycle Crew, also police escort.
I am one of the lead crews in the Convoy in my OMEGA ESTATE due to i am an event Marshal so there at least will be an OMEGA ahead of some of the Flashy and Fast cars, lol

Mine is already decaled up ready for the event and will stand out quite nicely, and I am hoping during the Saturday while I am in Yeovil for the pre-event meeting I will be having MORE graphics added to the Omega.

It would be great to see an Omega Presence at the event and you will be donating you well worth parking fee to two great causes.

Hi Everyone.....

Right here is an offer for you all..

How do the MANAGEMENT / MEETINGS TEAM ON HERE fancy organising an OMEGA club meet in Weston Super Mare on Sunday 6th May (Bank Holiday Weekend)

Normal price for parking in W.S.M over the Bank Holiday for the day is approx £10...... BUT we will allow you to park on the sea-front grassed area for £5.00 for the whole day. (This is solely for the Rally For Heroes Organised Clubs and NO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC)

The £5.00 goes directly to Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.

This would be a great way to publicise your club, we will be having the Press there who will be doing a full spread of our event.

The event is to raise awareness of our up and coming trip in August and will have a HIGH press coverage.

We have at present invited several car clubs to this event and have already had the Ford Focus ST and RS club say they are coming, along with Jaguar / TVR / BMW clubs, several more are on the list to come as well.

Back-ground to Rally For Heroes.
www.rallyforheroes.com

I am one of the main organisers of the event and we have already get all 50 entrants for the event in August.

We are attempting to raise £100,000 for the Royal British Legion / Help For Heroes (50/50 split) by the end of our event.

What I need to know from you all is if you would like to attend and what sort of size area you want us to reserve for you. (e.g. Number Of Cars Attending)

Please can someone start an event for this if you are going to attend or are interested in having a Bankholiday Sunday Meeting, then please P.M. me with numbers by Saturday 28th April.

Kind Regards

Simon

Admins please read and post for me in the Wanted Section if approved.

Right I am after if possible a pair of Front Seats For A Facelift Omega Estate. (Or Mk1 Omega if the seat runners are the same fixings)

I DO NOT CARE OF CONDITION... THE SEAT CAN BE TOTALLY RIPPED OR DAMAGED, as long as the bottom frame / runners are OK.
(If they have height adjustment that could be a benifit, but doesn't really matter)

Needed for my up-coming European Rally For Heroes in August
I am removing Both Front seats and rear seats and am replacing the fronts with my Land Rovers tempory set of Bucket Seat for the event. (These are alot more comfortable than the Standard Omega Ones.

So all I need is the runners from any OLD seats to retrofit / modify to these Buckets.

If you do have any Scrap Seats that the runners are OK on and are willing to either sell as a package or split off the seats or donate to me F.O.C. excluding postage which I am willing to pay then this would be excellent.
If they are donated F.O.C. then I will place some money into my Sponsorship Fund for the H4H and RBL for you kind support, followed by me sending you the link so you can see I have donated.

Kind Regards
Simon

Omega General Help / Re: Changing Rear Coil Springs
« on: 21 December 2011, 22:12:43 »
You need to place the car on axel stands so that the axels will drop down, so place the stands at the jacking points.

Putting the car on ramps will keep the springs compressed and stop you from lowering the axel and removing the wheels or springs.
