I'm not sure what they could have confused it with?

...I suppose i'll soon find out - I haven't bought it yet, they've ordered it in.

Thanks

I had it off y/day, and opened it up - it was in a very sorry state indeed.  All the contacts were corroded - one to the point where it had fell off during dismantling.

A new one is on order from vauxhall for £45

During the recent snow and slush a number of people have had problems with the selector switch.

Removing and cleaning the switch seems to have helped some people.

Where is the selector switch? And what shall i check?

Thanks, Anthony

is it dificult to convert to a manual?

TBH - i quite like the auto box, and the unusal thing is, it isn't malfunctioning as such as the gears stil change smoothly etc...

I have an auto specialist local (which out local vauxhall dealer sub contract to - as they dont service auto's)... may be worth a visit

Worth updating your profile with your location, we may have members with tech2 near you to read the codes  :y

Yes it revs over 4k

Well today I popped into town, and went to the vauxhall garage.  They have advised me the gearbox sump gaskets are discontinued... hmmm

Well i bought some ATF fluid (not from vauxhall) and drained out what i could from the level plug by jacking it up at pass. side, then following the instructions on here...

Still appears to be no improvement.

Thought i would explain in a bit more detail what is happening with the gear stick lights:

P = All lights on
R = R light is on
N = All lights on
D = 3 light comes on then all lights go on after a few seconds
3 = 3 light is on
2 = All lights on
1 = All lights on

I'm wondering whether this is a problem with the gearbox ECU?  Where will i find this?  And can they be replaced easily?

Thanks

Sorry  - it's a 2.2 16v

Not sure if it could be the snow mode then... as it starts in 1st but won't go past 3rd, and wont exceed 60mph

Hi Guys - newbie here so please give me some slack  ;)

Today i got an Omega - taking a bit of a chance on it, as the gears arnt running correctly.

The auto wont appear to go beyond 3rd, and wont go beyond 60.  It also sometimes take 2 attempts to get it into reverse...

The previous owner said it ran perfectly until he got stuck in snow, and tried getting out by rocking the car using reverse/first.

I see from the manual there is an ice mode - which I presume would have this effect on the drive? Lower torque/speed...

If this is the case, how do i get it off?

Thanks in advance
