Fixed, running absolutely perfect, got it on the ramp today and found 2 plugs and 1 wire hanging around doing nothing, so after a bit of contortionism found out where they went.
1 looked like the egr valve, another was very close to it, not sure what it was for but it fit, and a single wire, which looked like a temp sender, not too sure if they are at the back of the block/head but again it was the only thing i could see, not too much room to get a clear view.
Started her up and bingo, no eml, went out straight away, and all the symptons have gone, took it for a test drive, stopped it waited, started, brilliant.
I forgot what a pleasure it is to drive it as its been a while, so i took it home (40 miles) and it behaves fantastic.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, now I feel soooo much happier I'm just planning what colour to paint it, wheels, etc etc, must keep it from the missus tho
