Omega General Help / Re: Rev limiter
« on: 18 May 2007, 19:45:02 »
Im getting mine done on a rolling road at Corten Miller near Boston, wanted it done properly and programmed to the car, a few mates have had probs buying the 'off the shelf' ones. Its gonna cost about £300 but it'll be on the rollers for 3hours and the bloke said he got 15bhp out a standard omega once.

Omega General Help / Re: Metal covers

They have to be fitted that way round, when you get the metal covers and start looking at them you notice the plug lead holes have a slant to them and will only fit one way round.

I got mine off ebay and they wew £30 for the pair delivered which seemed reasonable, they came off a r reg Vectra V6 but i think any vectra v6 engine should have them.

Are these front or rear discs?
The front Discs and Pads are the same on all models from late 94 to 2002 but the early 94 models definitatly had different pads so the discs may be different aswel, i could check for you tomoz if you like when i'm back at work (I work at a Motor Factors)

Very Nice!!!

Does the Mantzel power box make much difference? Is it just an empty box that bypasses the up and down airpipes for the dual ram thing?

Yes it is worth doing. For the money its one of the better tuning mods you can do. It does pick up alot better now and mid-range acceleration is greatly improved. The only side effects are the gear change isn't as smooth but you dont really notice and you get a little gearbox noise from time to time but its nothing to worry about.

Tony - the pics make it look better than it is and i had just finished polishing it. Its got the usual rust on the tops of the doors and one of the arches is starting to go quite badly and theres little scratches and dints all over it but my motto is 'if you cant spot it at 100mph then it dont matter'.

I used 'Instant Gasket' by Comma which is the black funky smelling one, i just hand tightened the bolts but did them up from opposite corners top make sure the cover went down flat.
