Hi there I have had a problem with my aircon since I got the car it's never worked at first I thought it was the pump as the pulley was slopping about so I've changed the pump had it gassed and still no joy I've put a circuit tester on the pump wire and no power I've tested the relay wires and I have power to them can I run a new wire from the relay to the pump and if so which one is it there are two relays a White one and a green one and which colour wire or number terminal would it be thanks

I went to do mine this weekend I found it easier to prize the large rubber end downwards to free it off then wedge a socket between the steering arm and chassis and knock the idler upwards of the ball joint when I went to fit my bnew one from vauxhall parts on the web the balljoint hole had been machined to big so it slopped about on the ball joint

Easy job remove the plastic air intake tebes from pleneum chamber remove auxilary drive belt disconect air con pipes on above engine and one inbetween the rad and engine there is a green seal pull this towards you remove circlip pull pipe out don't loose internal seals the second one has to be done underneath undo the pump there are 3 bolts on the front then wiggle pump out undo the block on top securing the pipes if you are close to Yorkshire I could do it for you for a small fee

Omega General Help / Temp gauge hi
« on: 14 May 2010, 17:27:46 »
When I drive my gauge sits between 90 and 95 mark in traffic it will go up to between 95 and 100 and the fan kicks in when I stop the fan is running and if I turn the ignition back on the fan runs for a short while and then stops the gauge then goes to 100
now I do suspect there is a blockage in the rad from an oil cooler failure with the previous owner I would like to take the rad off and pour some kind of acid into it to dissolve it any suggestions on both welcome
