Omega General Help / Re: Replacing rubber around windshield
« on: 05 December 2025, 21:33:55 »
I didn’t get it from eBay, so I have no idea. I have just seen one advertised on a site www.mm-opelparts.com for £139. It says side/upper windscreen seal for Omega B.
Hope this helps. Sorry I can’t remember where mine came from ☹️

Where did you get it from please ?
I was under the impression they became very expensive and then no longer available.

I think I got it from E Bay mate, it was a while ago. I paid £60 for it. It was in a massive box obviously, as its posted as it fits on the car. It stood in our dining room for months before I actually got round to respraying the roof. I'll see if I can trace anything :y

I have to add, that after a roof respray I have fitted a new rubber surround on mine. Took a bit of patience, the sides and most of the top went in ok, but one small section did not seat properly. Took a plastic hammer to it, a few gentle clouts and it seated just fine. I was using a new rubber, so can't comment whether it would be the same with a used one.  :y

It’s the lower part of the main display that illuminates the dials 👍🏻

Thanks for the replies chaps. Really appreciated. Thanks for your offer, TB…May take you up on that 😀👍🏻 I’m in Dorset until the end of the month, so won’t be around until then. Thanks for your fine explanation DG, but after my surprising success to change the wing, I think I have used up my cleverness for the time being. ;D ;D

Obvious next question, where do you get the bulbs from nowadays, or is it a scrappy job👍🏻

We only get today....and even that is not guaranteed.

Yep it's always a bonus if you get to go to your bed of a night time.  :)

It's an even bigger bonus if you wake up in the morning.  ;D

Happened to my friend a month ago...just told the wife he was off to bed...never woke up  :( :( :( :(

Omega General Help / YaBB.pl files

Hi folks....
I have what seems like a couple of bulbs out on the dash, behind the speedo. I have gone through the Search system, and there are some links on how to do the job. However, when I click a link, I get a download Yabb file. Is this where the instructions are hiding, and if so, how do I open the file !!!! ;)

Hi all....what is the tank or container under the offside front wing. I assume it carries fluid of some kind :)

Bit late coming in on this, but I felt I ought to give James a bit of glory....he has done the belts and other jobs on my various Omega's over the years, and without his knowledge, the Omega would have long been in my motoring past. However, I am still clinging to one, and hopefully James' new venture will do well for him (and us !!) :y :y

Sorry to bump this up, but a quick question in response to Al's (DG) statement...half hour job....regarding the 'unclip the sill', I assume its possible to just unclip the front bit and not take the whole thing off. So again, I assume it can be prised off with a screwdriver. Just don't want to break anything :y :y
