I had exactly the same issue last year and found if i lubricated the guides at the sides of the window with WD40 or similar it cures it for a while

I normally just tune to radio 2 for a minute or two till the little clock symbol lights up

I did read the manual but on trying to move the lever thing it wouldnt move .. but as said i didnt want to try to hard in case i broke something ..

I found out the hard way mate,got a pattern part from my mates garage,had all sort of bother with it,i then sourced one with a pre cat on ebay and fitted it,EML solved
But as there was nothing wrong with the 1st part,the suppliers wouldn't take it back
So i was out of pocket for the price of 2 downpipes to get one fitted and working properly
Monzaian.....
I seem to remember we both had problems at the same time with cats .... did i not recommend the same exhaust to you as well ... sure it was you , i think you asked after i fitted mine if it was ok
