Omega General Help / Re: Programming a Key

Yes the ignition was on, and I tried pressing the buttons on the keyfob a few times, both with the door open and also closed. The central locking did not lock or unlock and the key does not sync

Any idea on what if anything I could be doing wrong when I try and sync the key?

The fob used to work, when the LED didn't light anymore on the key, I changed it about 4 weeks later, now the LED works again when pressing any button on the fob, even holding the lock button down, the LED stays lit as though it is shutting windows and roof so I am assuming the FOB is working. Can I do some sort of test to assertain the fob is working?

The fob is faulty
The fob never worked
You are not correctly syncing
The Alarm ECU is faulty (very rare)

My guess would be one of the top 2 :)[/quote]

Omega General Help / Programming a Key
« on: 04 March 2011, 14:36:18 »
I have checked on this site and cannot find any reference to my problem, apologies if it is there. Anyway, I have two keys for my Omega 2.2 and both used to work, however on one key the battery went flat and stopped opening and locking remotely. Now if the car is locked remotely and I use the other key to open manually the alarm goes off and indicators flash. I reset this by putting key in ignition.
PROBLEM. I replaced the battery in the keyfob, led now lights when buttons pressed, BUT I put the key in the ignition, and tried to reprogram it but it does not work, press lock or unlock with ignition on is supposed to re-program the key but it doesn't, can anybody help on this issue or is there another way to reprogram the key?

Omega General Help / Re: How can I reprogram my 2nd key
« on: 27 July 2010, 23:20:52 »
I tried this also. I put the key in Ignition at position 2 then press the unlock button (LED illuminates on the key) I then press the locked button again LED illuminates. I then take the key out of the ignition, I shut the door and try the key but nothing. It states in the manual once you press either lock or unlock on the key the doors will lock and unlock as confirmation. This does not happen. Anybody else got any other ideas please.

Yes, I did it both manually with the first key, when this didn't work, I then tried locking and unlocking with the remote but again no joy with reprogramming the 2nd key

Omega General Help / How can I reprogram my 2nd key

I have a 3 button key which was working fine until the battery failed. I have replaced the battery, the LED on the keyfob now works as it should but it does not opeerate the central locking. I tried following the manual in order to reprogram the key but it doesnt work. The key works in the lock and starts the car, however when my wife uses the other key and locks it remotely, when I unlock the car the alram goes off until I put the key in the ignition and start the engine.
