Omega General Help / Wishbones Torque Settings
« on: 22 March 2012, 18:00:47 »
Going to do the wishbones on my 02 reg Omega this weekend, I dont have a manual so could some kind sole confirm torque settings please for bolts, I understand I have to tighten front bolt once all fitted and wheels on the ground, will it have same effect if a i get car on axle stand and jack up wishbone to same level prior to final tightening?

How long should I allow, Im not a complete novice to cars but not done Omega wishbones before?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Rear Silencer Retaining Clips
« on: 12 March 2012, 17:40:54 »
Damn, put new back box on a few weeks back and toinight thought box looked a little low, both rubbers and old knackered clips have made a bid for freedom!

Are the clips a main dealer part or is there another simple adaptation that will do the job.

Its an 02 2.216V manual

Cheers

Omega General Help / Knocking Mig
« on: 05 December 2010, 13:18:57 »
Seems getting stuck a few times and some over enthusiastic revving when stuck in the snow has caused a certain bottom end knocking which sounds like it could get terminal.

It's an 02 reg 2.2CD with 67K miles, can anyone recommend somewhere to get a recon bottom end or whole engine supplied and fitted if more economic?? Any ideas on cost??

I need to change both the dipped and main beam nearside on my Omega, its an 02 reg 2.2. Is it just me or have they designed it to make it as difficult as possible??

Is there a knack to this or is it a case of removing the battery to access it?? >:(

Omega General Help / Diff Whine
« on: 31 July 2010, 10:43:21 »
Have just bought 02 reg 2.2CD Manual Omega with 64K on the clock and what seems like full service history, very pleased with it bar usual steering vagueness which I shall attemtpt shorty. However the car does seem to have a noisy diff particularly on the overrun, is this a common thing, I know you sued to hear Carltons whining along the road a few years ago, I understand they are sealed for life so presumably not serviceable so what are my options?

Cheers in advance :(
