Hope someone helps m8.I have the same problem,definately sounds like a wheel bearing,but I have had all four corners up checking for play in bearing or a noise when I spin the wheel,but there is nothing!
Doing my head in now,been like this for a few months.I have heard rear wheel bearings are a nightmare,so I am not changing any of them untill I am sure!

I have just changed o/s wishbone and since doing so there is a rumbling noise when travelling on a slightly bumpy road.Doesnt happen on a smooth surface.
It didnt do this before!
Better check for a broken spring as someone has mentioned,and ball joints.
I was pretty rough with the strut while I was trying to get wishbone ball joint in!
So your knocking noise might not be the wishbone,unless my new wishbone is buggered!
