Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Immobiliser wiring
« on: 07 August 2010, 16:27:44 »
I'm trying to fit an Omega 3 litre ecu into my Cavalier 3 litre and not been able to start it.I have the key and transponder supposedly from the same car but get code 145 from the ecu, immobiliser error. On scanning the Haynes manual wiring diagram, there is an extra wire which the cav doesn't have from the transponder from pin no1 that goes to track 937 which seems to go to the "anti theft control unit".There was no voltage coming out of it when cranked and earthing this made no difference to it, but am a little bit reluctant to put 12v to it in case I fry it.Does anyone know if this should be a 12v feed?
I think I have a later car ecu judging by the number of wires coming out of the transponder.

Omega General Help / EGR valve /solenoid
« on: 01 August 2010, 21:10:31 »
Does anyone know if an Omega V6 will run without the EGR solenoid/valve connected?
I'm trying to fit an Omega ecu into my cav without the EGR and associated wiring, but can't get it to start.I've done a fault code check and get 129,131(EGR fault) and 145(immobiliser).I have the key and transponder to go with the ecu and suspect this, but before I pay to get it sorted i wanted to eliminate the EGR.

Welcome to the OOF.

We'll see how long it'll be before we can persuade you to get an Omega as well, or get rid of the Cavalier for an Omega  ::)  ;D .

Hope you like the forum  :y

;D TBH, i would really appreciate the comforts of an Omega, the old cav is getting on a bit and full of rattles and squeaks.
However my main use of the cav is doing RWYBs at Santa Pod and i think an Omega would be a bit heavy for that.Cav weighs in at 1160kgs and does the 1/4 in 14.4 @ 98mph, thats 0-60 in just under 6 secs.

Hi to all from a fellow V6 Vauxhall owner.Hope i'm not being too cheeky by joining as I don't own an Omega, but my Cavalier does have a 3litre out of a Mig and this seems to be the best forum for V6 information. :)

Won't fit an Omega I know, but i thought you might like to see what I made for my V6 :)
Bought and modified a set of F**d Probe V6 manifolds, made my own flanges and equal length secondaries, not easy on a transverse engine.
