Had a problem with my 3.2 53 plate estate.
Don't drive it that often so it more often than not I have to recharge battery.
The other day went off for a little drive of about 30 miles. About 18 miles in the battery light came on. Over the next couple of miles dashboard looked like a 70's disco, rev and speedo stuck and zeroed, power steering became heavy.
Managed to get it to a lay-by where I turned the engine off. Couldn't get it started so left it there and came back with spare battery.
Got it home and got a new alternator fitted. Went to friendly tyre and battery place and got existing battery checked. It was knackered
However checking the readings we were only getting 12.4v with engine running down to 12.1 with load ( xenon's and hearing )
Fitted new battery and got only 12.1 running down to 11.8 with load.
Thinking it may be lower because its a new fully charged battery went my merry way.
Driving south, going away on holiday it died again after 100 miles. Battery totally flat, even charged jump pack couldn't resurrect it.
Check everything visible all seems okay
Any ideas, please

Has anyone come up with anyway apart from BFI to remove a spoiler from a rear ended estate as I could only get a bog standard tailgate in the same colour as mine?

Omega General Help / Front nearside brake problem

Hello lovely peeps in Omega land, hope everyones air con is keeping you lovely and cool and the fridge is topped up with a few cold ones
I recently changed my front pads on my 3.2 estate but after a few weeks i noticed a rubbing sound like that heard when pads are low. This rubbing sound only occured when i was braking to a halt and for a few revolutions of the wheel after starting off
Looked at the disc and noticed that there was a lip on the outer edge which i knocked / ground off but as i spinned the wheel i noticed that it seemed to "catch" on one part of the disc / pads. It looked like the disc was running true but anyway i bought new pads and discs and changed them.
The old "new" pads had wear marks at the top where the ridge was.
Refitted all the new bits but i still have the same problem, so neighbours cat got kicked! (as i have not got one) So i throw myself to the mercy of you guru's for some ideas

Dont go by what retailers say, they lent me a new one to get my dead by the roadside estate started and their computer gave me a 60aH one which he uprated to a diesel version. Woulnt even make the starter motor tick!
Eventually got a heavy duty 70aH one for £60 quid and a box of biscuits for coming out and jump starting mine
If i remember my other estate i put a 96 ah one on but then i was using that as a delivery vehicle, just like the one i have now

Just bought two from auction site 
for £29.95 inc carriage. Turned up first thing next morning so fitting today.
Reason i bought these was they are stated as being made in Germany (they came with Phillips instruction sheet)
I remember from my electrical wholesaling days that a lot of discharge and low voltage lamps are made in the same factories with just parts interchanged or even the same parts but branded different.
Only time will tell. Watch this space!

When i phoned a friend of mine he couldnt believe i could lock the car with keys in ignition but i managed it
I was only popping to an address to post something through their letterbox so was parked right outside as i opened the door and started to get out my elbow caught the door lock tab. In the time it took me to finish getting out and the door closing it was too late to realise what happened.
At least i had turned the engine off, the dog might have taken himself off somewhere
I like the autoglass idea, just off to check the insurance policy!

As already stated dont buy cheap
Replaced one with cheapest i could find on internationally reknowned auuction site
Lasted a couple of months so got one from GSF which was okay but in future i will buy best i can afford as i have learnt that cheap doesnt pay in the long run

Thank you for your replies and restraint in what is clearly a funny situation in the cold light of day. 
Knowing what i know now, i would have put the rear window in as suggested as the dog was on the rear passenger seat and even putting the window in didnt faze him!
I have looked at the "new" door option and its begining to look like the less likely for me to throw heavy objects about option but i am about to go out and clear the glass up as all i felt like doing last night was to drive it home cover the hole and abandon it.
Oh by the way forgot to mention was also dealing with a puncture that means i need a new tyre!
At least one thing, these Omega's are secure

Hi, how easy is it to replace the above piece of glass as i had to break mine today due to the fact i managed to lock my car up with the keys in the ignition 
Also had dog inside who was no help at all 
.
The Haynes book of worms makes it look like major surgery with me having to take the main window out first, please tell me there is an easier way, and yes i know the easiest way is not to lock keys in and to have a spare which i have but had not got around to coding / cutting it yet

I have spent the last few hours reading all the search results for HID / Xenon lamps and have now got a migraine, please help o keepers of the knowledge
Have a 51 plate 3.2 estate
Offside headlight lights up the same as the nearside but them goes a "yellowy orangey" sort of colour that appears pinkish when seen reflected of another surface, i.e backs of cars etc after about 10 secs or so (must stop taking those pills)
Is it the lamp or the control gear on its way out
And
Am i right in assuming i have the H7 lamp version or is it the H1
