Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Glow Plugs Problem
« on: 12 March 2011, 20:57:31 »
Yes you have to remove the inlet manifold, i did my glows a couple of weeks ago make sure you get alll the bolts off the inlet manifold as i found that the person thatd done mine before me hadnt and managed to crack part of the manifold near the bolt and bodged it back together with exhaust putty! make sure you get the inlet manifold gaskets as well as you can gurantee that if you dont youll need them, they was about 3 quid each when i bought them  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / immobiliser help please
« on: 30 January 2011, 19:17:25 »
Hi all after having starting problems me and diamond black geezer replaced the fuel pump and thought that was job done! The car still wont start and we think its the immobiliser as the engines turning over but seems to be holding back from firing u. ive put my diagnostic reader on it and it says the immobiliser is active even with the key in the 2 position, any help to get this sorted without the need of a tech guy would be great
thanks in advance

Hi just to let you know the problems sorted it turned out to be something as simple as 2 fuses which were labeled in the book as something that didnt even relate to the centre console!!!!!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Massivelelectrical issues!
« on: 14 November 2010, 17:42:03 »
Hey all,

TD Elite 98 first issue the Bose stereo wouldnt power up,

this was following the battery being off, as we have been fitting a new ABS ECU. The ecu was off an identical model, year, etc, so i dont see how this can be the cause of what was to follow...

Then, to test the whoe system we turned it over, and found the abs light had gone off-result!

Then airbag light came on for longer than usual, then went out, no probs. Shortly after the whole centre of the dash lights wouldnt come up..including the mfd.

Nowthe rev counter, fuel and temp (and presumably the speedo, though havent driven it)dont work, the climate control fan comes on/off/on/off soon as you close the door. Obviousbly this wasnt ideal, so we disconnect the battery, locked all doors manually and left it!

Last start the car barely managed to, binnacle lights dimming, classic low battery symptoms. AGain, the climate fans went on/off/on/off, so we whipped the battery off, that's now on charge.

Pretty much all of the loom connectors round the battery/relax box have been off in order to do the abs ecu, so these would seem to be a prime suspect, but everything seems ok, we've checked nopins have been snapped off/everything's plugged in. We are suspecting relays, or something mega serious!?!?!

Hope this hasnt been too long, but just bought the car off felow oofer today, after it ran like a dream for hours on end this is all very strange!

Thanks in advance. AAAAARGH!! :o :( :-? :o

Omega General Help / Re: Car died and more probs
« on: 10 May 2011, 19:56:36 »
Thanks everyone for all the help and sorry for the time its took to reply its been a busy week or so and ive only had time to spend an hour or so on the car every other night! As it stands the car is running again if a little on the lumpy side which im hoping that giving it a good boot tomorrow will sort :y After stripping out a fair amount off stuff like glows, wiring, the maf (anythinkg and everything really :-[) it looks like it was an airlock in the fuel system which must have got in when i ran out off diesel the other week  :-[ and its worked its way round. Going to give her a good run tomorrow and see how it goes from there :) Hopefully this is problem sorted and i can go back to tinkering on her and once again thanks for all the help :y
