Managed to unlock car with key, but just opened the drivers door, no alarm triggered.

Tried re-sync the key fob - no joy. Put in key and turned 'til warning lights came on then pressed and held fob, light flashing on fob. Tried to open and close but no luck.

What thing I have notice is that occasionaly there is a buzzing / humming noise in sync with alarm indicator flashing, although its not doing it today - Is that connected

 Any other suggestion please

Thanks for your responses to my 1st topic - much appreciated.

My next problem is with the central locking. Changed batteries in both key fobs as locking was becoming intermittent. Then couldn't unlock car and tried using the key to unlock the door but no joy. I could the alarm indicator flashing on the dash and using the key fob, pressed until the alarm no longer flashed. Then managed to unlock the boot (eatate) and climbed   through to see I could start the engine, which I could, then had to find someone to close the boot for me  , got home and climbed out of the boot much to my families amusement. Took out fuses changed batteries and central locking worked again for a couple of days. Same problem this morning, however managed to use key to open door. Any advise please

Omega General Help / High Pitch noise form start up

Omega 2.5 V6 (R)

High pitch noise from cold start for about two min (sounds like a Harrier about to take off).

If started with warm engine noise time is reduced.

Noise level got gradually worse over a few months until stayed at this level.

Been advised that its for a fan recirculating exhaust gases form cold. Any advise on fixing in situ.

Omega 2.5 v6 (R)
From start up for about 2 minutes there is a high pitched noise. I understand it is the fan that re-circulates the exhaust gases to reduce emissions.

Please advise what is makng the noise and can it fixed in situ.
