Omega General Help / Re: Few questions
« on: 27 November 2011, 12:36:32 »
remove the liner by pressing the grey part on the right hand side as if you are emptying it. Put handbrake firmly on turn ignition on do not start the engine press brake and select 1st gear turn ignition off. This will give better access to the screw which is situated in a little cutout in the centre at the back unscrew with a philips driver keep the driver in place and gently pull the casing towards you it automatically disconnects the wiring plug. Then see if you can sort from here replacement is just the reverse.
Hope this helps :y

Omega General Help / Re: fault codes
« on: 16 November 2011, 00:15:35 »
I ve just got in from work and read your answers.
I believe it had the hot start fix done before I purchased the car last November where would I find the device as not very clued up on these vehicles.
any schematics regarding the wastegate and sensors?
I fitted a new fuel filter 4000 miles ago and filled with diesel magic at that time.
I cleared faults but they came back straight away so are current.
Unfortunately any work will have to wait until a week today as work and the fact my son is borrowing the car for the weekend means I can't even look on Sunday. :-\

Omega General Help / Re: What to look for with Diesels?
« on: 02 November 2011, 08:09:09 »
I bought a 1998 Diesel estate on e bay last november for £331 with 6months mot it only needed a track rod end and a new handbrake cable for its next mot less than £50 and apart from a service and glowplugs and leak off pipework replacement has been reliable :y

It's alright for all of you owners of reasonable second cars but when my 20yr old has to borrow my mig est for his mates and all their computing gear for a show I'm left with his Micra and its no fun when driving it with a lurcher on the back seat breathing in your ear :D

While I have owned the car there has never been a pipe to that little filter the previous owner had put the original fuel leak off pipe from the pump to the egr valve. He had put a leak off pipe from no1 and hid down the side of the pump  :-\

I am no mechanic either if this is right it may explain one of my problems regarding fuel smell
