i have no history for those swaps, from what i said is it more likly to be a water pump/thermostat issue rather than a head gasket problem?

has an oil leak somewhere which it has had since i got it but dosnt appear to be a water leak anywhere.

i had a head gasket go on a 306 i once owned but the temp flew through the roof even when the car was moving where this dosnt when the car is travelling?

Hi guys i have a 94 2.5l gls manual with 74000 miles.

recently it appears to have developed some cooling issues, this dont happen all the time and never whilst the car is on the move.

sometimes when sitting with the engine running the temp gage will head up over 100, if i hold the car revs at around 3000rpm for 2secs the temp starts to drop back down to normal or if i start to move forward even like 5 meters the temp drops back down to normal, anyone have any ideas?

thanks in advance
(am praying its not the early signs of a failing head gasket)
