Thanks guys for the warning over Caustic.
I'll keep trying to remove those two hoses.

Job number 2 completed... the doorcard was removed and I found the rod had not fallen off. All I had to do was wind 'rivet type wheel until the outter door handle worked..
Can't explain it, but it did the job.

So waiting for a good sunny day with no work on to tackle those two hose pipes...

Does anyone know where I can buy a blank key fob case without the key? The type i own has one button and an led light (red). The part where it would hang on a keychain is a round end. It's the old type  :question
I went to Vauxhall here and they are looking £135 to give me a new one with key and programmed. The chip doesn't need programmed as it already works..i dropped something on my keyfob case and broke a piece off it, so just looking a new case...Vauxhall rep basically laughed at me..so any help out there would be grateful  :y

Would I be unwise to use Caustic soda with boiling water into the system?  :-/

I have heard that machine Mart road film remover is good for flushing the cooling system. I have used automatic washing machine liquid - the type of which wifey uses to wash the clothes which doesnt foam up into loads of bubbles - and found it to be reasonably effective.HTH. :y

Hi there
YesIve tried flushing out the system with Holts flush, no use.
Then I tried the stuff the mrs uses in the dish washer to flush out the pipes of grease and grime...still no luck, but im betting the radiator is sparkling clean  :y

1 sounds like too much Rad weld has blocked your matrix as sespected. Wonder if the matrix pipes from to bulk head can be accessed from thier other end? Will they unclip from thier other end if you see what I mean? Just a thought, never had to go on there meself.

2, as said 3 bolts, 2 on top, one underneath with a quarter inch drive extention, tape the screw onto the socket to re fit so it won't fall off in the process. Not sure if the connectors are the same over model years though? I had depo and thought them ok, for the money tbh. But maybe the bulbs where better than in the previos genuine lights?

3 maybe one of the connecting rods has fallen off the handle? Door card off time, there is a guide.

Hi there
Thank you for the help. I got the headlights installed and working perfectly. I used the old bulbs and they are very bright!  8-)

Removing the hoses from the other end, one is visable the other isnt..so dont know if that will work.
If Radweld is the culprit, what can I use and how to remove any build up in the pipes...  :y

avoid depo lights they are rubbish get hella these are much better and have adjusters and levers for continental driving  :y
problem 3-- connecting rod popped off, doorcard off and hopefully just pop back in, but you will see more when doorcard is off  http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1177492197  :y

Hi there, thank you for the info, I got the lights installed :)
I can't get at the rod if it is that that has fallen off. I managed to get the door card off, but to be honest I haven't a clue what to look for or where. I did try opening the link you posted, but for some reason a new page opened  saying numbers only from 0 - 9 thread accepted etc... ???
Can you post the pics of this please or how do i see them via the link??
As for the scuttle, I've not had time to do that job yet, hoping this Saturday provided no work is on.
If I can't pull them off, can I cut them off and later put them on with jubliee clips?
IF Radweld is the culprit, what can I use to dissolve any that has hardened or built up in the pipes? And how can it be inserted, funnel with hot water solution??

Omega General Help / Three problems

Hello,
I'm new so don't know the protocol for posting problems.
There are three that need addressing so I'll post them here and if I have to post them separately please let me know and will do.

Problem 1:  The heat in my car is not hot, it is luke warm.
This has happened over the course of the winter. I opened the bonnet and felt the two matrix hoses going into the bulk head. The top one was very hot, the bottom was warmish.
I replaced the thermostat, radiator, timing belt, water pump, alternator belt last month.
Some radwell was used prior to this because of a leaking radiator, hence replacement.

I've tried removing the two matrix hoses from under the bulk head but with no joy. They've been there since year dot and there is very little space to work with.
I've seen the maintenance guide on this forum how to remove them, but in my case that doesn't work. I want to do a back flush so help needed to remove those hoses. Failing that is there a solution I can add the system to help dissolve any radwell that has built up in the matrix area / pipes / hoses?

Problem 2: One ofmy headlamps was broken when someone bumped into my car in the recent icy weather.
I have tried purchasing the glass, with no joy and no joy with a headlamp to match of ebay or other such sites.
So I've opted to replace both headlamps with new ones which will mean they will be upgraded from 94 to 98 clear glass type lamps. I want to do the replacemnet myself, any advice on how to remove old ones, what should I be looking for and what to avoid please.

Problem 3:  The rear right passenger door will not open from outside, but will from inside. I think one of my grandsons slammed the door too hard and has knocked something off thus causing the problem. Is there a way for me to fix this please and how?

Again apologises if all three issue should not be put here together.

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum.
Heard about it off a friend and thought I'd join.

Need some help with some issues.

Hopefully I will post them in the proper section, if not apologises in advance.

I drive a 1994 Omega ED Select Estate, Reg 1995.

There is 201, 100 miles on the clock and passes MOT everytime.

This years MOT is Feb 27th. So need something fixed and replaced before then.

Regards to you all

This is the very early IR type, yes?  I have a couple here but the rubber button bit is knackered on both.  You can have one for the price of the postage mate.

Most key fob cases can be found cheap as chips on ebay though.

Hi sjc
Can I pm you for details please?
