Omega General Help / Re: Differential box

It’s the 3.2 elite auto so that’s a bit harder to do. The closest item I can see to blame would be the drive shaft floating and knocking off the center pin that holds the small gears. How that could happen I haven’t a clue as it can only go in a certain depth. It’s a puzzle lol as well as a pain in the neck having to replace it all the time. If I had a garage it wouldn’t be so bad but my driveway has my mini digger trailer and transit van on it being repaired so it’s a street repair, cold and wet.

The first was a total rebuild; the second was when I found that they no longer supply parts anymore so it was secondhand from there onwards. Yip correct oil no leaks. The center pin seems to eat at the housing or snap completely. This time it was just the small gears shattering. Prop seems to be in balance same with drive shafts with no vibration and the oil seals are still perfect. This is why I was wondering if maybe Vauxhall know this so no longer supply parts for this diff. maybe an ongoing problem.  I was blaming my son for over use of the sport button lol.

Hi guys. Have any of you ever had the problem of the diff constantly smashing the cogs. Now on fourth diff in three years fed up renewing it lol. No vibration it just starts to knock then bang it’s like a washing machine full of scrap metal. Tried to get new parts but for some odd reason Vauxhall have discontinued said parts. Is this a weak spot on the omega elite 3.2 auto?
