Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Replacing headlamp bulb query
« on: 06 November 2012, 13:14:33 »
Just a quick update. It turns out, that when I replaced the headlamp bulb, the new one had a manufacturing fault., which resulted in failure within 3 weeks. Now replaced with another bulb from a different supplier. All lights working fine, and no messages on the display.

For the past few years I have run with 100w on main beam, with standard 55w on dipped.  Just uprated the fuses for the main.  Most Vauxhalls have seperate fuses for dip and main for each headlight. (ie 4 seperate fuses for haedlights). As a general rule of thumb twice the watts equals twice the amps.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Replacing headlamp bulb query
« on: 18 September 2012, 13:00:03 »
53 plate Vec 2.0 dti elite (non xenon).  I  have replaced the drivers side dipped beam headlamp bulb, now indicator lamp comes on steady (ie not flashing) with headlights. Indicators work normally with and without headlights. Also getting a message on display to check the parking light.  I have checked for trapped wires etc that may be causing a short, cant see anything obvious.  Does anyone have any ideas Please?

Omega General Help / Re: Failing crank sensor!!
« on: 05 August 2012, 18:12:18 »
Glad you sorted.
Sorry I was unaware some models did not have an EGR valve. My previous post was based on personal experience with 3 differenet cars (2.2 dti Omega, old shape 2.0 dti Vec, and new shape 2.0 dti Vec)
Anyway crank sensor is a fraction of the cost of EGR valve!!!!!!!!!

Dont know about the codes, but some of the symptons suggested would seem implicate the EGR valve.  Might be worht checking.

Hi please excuse a Vectra question on an Omega forum, but due to the current economic climate I have downsized.
The car is a 53 plate 'new shape' Vectra 2.0 dti elite. the problem is the climate control/air con  dont appear to be working, the car completely steamed up inside last week when on a 100 mile trip. I think the servos may need synchronising. Can anyone tell how, please? Or any other suggestions (polite ones only please).

Has anyone else noticed how much jubilee tat there is about?
This week in the local supermarket I have spotted a jubilee inflatable hand, a car scarf to hang in windscreen, hair gel, lip salve, Kingsmill bread renamed Queensmill, Mr Kipling jubilee British fancies (normally French). the inevitable union jack underpants, and finally something for the blokes matching bra & knickers.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats great news, hope she continues to do well.
My son was diagnosed with CF when he was 15 months old, albeit a very mild case.
How is he now? Not suffering too much I hope..?

Sorry been away for a while, only just seen your post.
No. 1 son now 13 year old, doing very well, no antibiotics or physio, just a course of vitamin supplements, which he will have to take long term.
Best wishes to you sister and hope she continues to do well, but I guess wont be running any marathons just yet.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: swap ccr600 to ccr2006?
« on: 19 April 2012, 12:57:29 »
However, if you have a CCR2006, you can always retro fit the CDC section into the CDC3, making sure you retain the original vertical PCB form the original unit - Easy conversion !!

 :y

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate the units are different sizes physically. Would I be right in thinking the cdc from the 2006 will connect to the existing ccr600?

« on: 18 April 2012, 13:03:38 »
I have a ccr600 with glove box mounted cdc3 (cd not working). Can any one tell is it possible to swap the complete sytem for ccr2006. Do I need any extras like adapters. Will the steering wheel controls still work?

General Car Chat / Re: mot test advisories
« on: 16 March 2012, 13:18:14 »
I've done a bit of research on some of our company vehicles. Found a number of 3 year old vehicles tested at the same garage have all needed headlamp beam adjustment to  pass mot. It would appear some testers do have their favourite failures.
Would it be too synical of me to suggest headlamp beam adjustment is easy money for garages?
