Only in America....
Such a narrow-minded comment
i was referring to the fact of making it legal to take guns to school. clubs and public buildings which i think is absolutely crazy so where does it all end the law which did allow people to carry guns which will now cover everywhere you go including places of worship. Wasn't there another 4 people killed at school in America at the weekend??
It's a part of their culture that is difficult to understand....no wait, it's in their constitution! Permit to carry is a pretty normal thing to give out in some places yet only given to ex police in others (such as Hawaii) I think the numbers in Texas, for example, dwarf the figures given for Ohio.
I know when I move out there I will be gettting a pistol, rifle and shotgun. A) because I like target shooting and I am pretty good at it, B) for hunting, because I like that too, C) because if someone breaks in to my house I can legally shoot them, and D) because I can. Not sure the wife will allow me to get a permit to carry, getting her to agree to keeping firearms in the house was difficult enough.
What I dont agree with though is the way that US citizens seem to handle their firearms. The in-laws dont seem to have gun cabinets, rather gun rooms which are not locked at all. The ammo is locked away but the rifles and shotguns are on racks in a room. They shuold be locked away in a gun cabinet or a purposely built room with added security.
And dont be naive and think that when you ban firearms the number of shootings goes down. In fact the opposite has happened in every single occurance of banning firearms around the world.
