My omega says Astra 1.4 on the back , similarly bike  says Kawasaki on petrol tank plates, and GP100 ( is a suzuki),previous 2.8 Capri had 1.4 on each side, Granada 2.8 had Sierra 1.6D on the back - just for confusion purposes.

Illegal I doubt.. but you're probably meant to inform your insurance company so they can charge you more

There are no badges on the back of my MR2 and the only one on the front is a modified version of the Japanese MR-S badge.. we parked three in a row at a hotel once and chuckled as one guest walked around them all several times scratching his head
