Auto box malfunction
« on: 03 May 2012, 16:48:46 »

The auto box goes into limp mode sometimes on start up. I've fitted a new cam sensor. the fault codes are: PO 727 engine rpm without signal, P1 700 transmission control service closed, P0 700 control unit for transmission. Can anyone tell me what the problem is & what needs to be done to cure it. The fault light on the dash lights up when the box goes into limp mode. If the engine is turned off & restarted the fault usually clears & the fault light does not come on.

Have you changed the fluid as described here? http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1289757627

Are they read from the engine ECU, or from the TCM?

I also get a problem similar to this. Don't know the codes, but occasionally the eml comes on and the dash shows 'Automatic gearbox'. I then have to go through the gears manually until I can stop. Once the engine is switched off and restarted the fault clears. I suspect I need to change the gearbox fluid. Additionally the filler plug has been rounded off so can't check the level either. I'm hoping there is enough nut left to be able to remove with a six sided socket....A job amongst many that I must get around to.
