Central locking problem
« on: 11 March 2012, 10:14:50 »

Hi! I mange to make myself more problem. yesterday i was working on the locking mechanism on both doors.
The car is : Opel Omega 1995, 2,5 V6
Drivers seat is on left on my car. On drivers side, is missing the two small pieces, (one is round metallic and you see it when remove the door card, and the other one is activating mechanically the doors)  what activate the switch, like in the image below.

Now the problem:  before yesterday i could lock/unlock the car with the key from the right door (passenger side on my car).
Now i can lock/unlock the car just if i push/pull the motor from drivers side, is not locking any more with the key, on any of the side.
From the motor action, is locking/unlocking all doors. The fob is not working since i buy the car.

Where to search? what it could be the problem.

The fuse 20 is ok, is there any other fuse to check?
PS: yesterday i was using on the mechanism a spray similar to w40, it is possible, if he entered into the contacts, to create this problem?
PS2: i tried to use the search option, but i didn't saw any similar problem.

Like a mystery, after i drive 100km, i can lock the car with the key. Probably was the spray.

Job sorted then! Or is it? If you used WD40 or similar, it may have done the job, but you should now follow it up, by oiling all moving parts,

It's working now.  :D I oiled all moving parts there.
Also a question: i receive the new (actualy a old door handle). I that it will be a 10 minute job, but... the door handle was from a ī99 car and the mecanism was diffrent, so i needed to make him to work with my key. that was done.
The problem: my door handle had a 4 wire switch, the new one had 3 wire.
I donīt remember the last wire, but the first 3 (from exterior to interior of the car) was yelow/red, browm/red, Brown and brown/ ?Yelow(i think).
The last 3 wires was the same on the new handle.
In the old handle the Y/R wire was activated after the B/R wire on locking. So , i put them together to the new switch. Is ok?
Now on the new switch i have conected: Y/R+B/R and B and B/y? .
The doors are working ok, and also is starting the alarm (?), i think is the alarm. After i lock the car i see a red light on the imobilizer buton what blinks at the begining, and after that is silent, until i open a dor without unlocking the car.
If i open o dor after it was lock from driver side, it start de hazard light, should be there some noise also?

Thanks!
