Air bag problem

Hi all I have removed my steering wheel and when
Refitting and connecting the air bag up it now shows
A light on the dash showing a problem can anyone help
Do I need to get a new bag or am I able to fix this one

Was the ignition on at any point when the airbag was disconnected?

new airbag not usually needed.

you must follow the instructions on the squib ( the rotary electrical joint ) before refitting the steering wheel and then get the lamp turned off by either a dealer, or someone with a suitable code-reader.

Hi no I disconnected the battery 1st before
Removing the air bag just in case it went off
When I removed it

Probably just wants the light reset. As said somebody local with a tech 2. Most garages can do this
