Idiot Opti.
« on: 27 March 2012, 18:02:43 »

With such glorious weather I decided to make the 20 mile round trip to my local Vx dealer. They don't recognise Trade card,  but will give you a small discount if you ask nicely. :y

I purchased 5 litres of GM red anti freeze........£14 inc VAT.......5 litres of GM 10/40 S/S......£20 inc VAT, and a genuine GM oil filter for Mrs Opti's Corsa 1.2. I paid £3 inc VAT for this.

I then happily threw them all in the boot (ALONG WITH THE KEYS) and shut it. DOH. The car is locked. Pratt.

I think that Mrs Opti really enjoyed the drive out with spare key. I'm still waiting for her to thank me..... ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)

Ive actually done the exact same once But luckily enough it was at home with the spare key in the house ;) ,
But Thats one problem with the FaceLift Saloon unlike the Pre-FaceLift or an Estate which wouldn't have been a problem..

I did that with, dare I say it?, my old sierra sapphire ::)

Took my dad to a car scrapyard, got the bits he wanted, opened the boot, dropped the keys down and cleaned our hands. Did no more than close the lid and as it was shutting, I saw the keys laughing at me in the boot.....thud!  Oh bottox   :-[

Borrowed a hammer and proceeded to smash the rear passenger window. Several attempts and it still wouldn't give. Seriously hacked off, I swung harder than ever, and bingo, it smashed. Unfortunately, the hammer left my grip and went through the car and straight out the rear drivers side window  >:( >:( >:(

To say I was a tadge annoyed was an understatement.....never did it again though ;)

Amusing story BV. :y :y :y

Back in the dim and distant past, I once owned a Sierra Sapphire. It was a 1991 model on a "J" plate.....a 2.0 GLX (I think). It had a twin cam fuel injected lump and went like shit off a shovel. :y
