which is actually in my garage but without battenburgs on lol! i dont know why but it looks quite good with them on
....but unfortunatly no, it wont have the blue lights haha!

Nowt to stop you having battenburgs, look at highway maintenance cars that are taken home at night or security vehicles. As long as the 'Police' signage, light bars, twin tones, & grill lights and any other blue lights that some police spec Volvos come with are removed, you're fine.

I thought they were a bit funny bout the blue and yellow battenburgs - its only police that have blue and yellow - ambulances/paramedics/doctors are yellow and green IIRC

Check the retroreflective standard of the markings.  Only the 999 services are allowed, as far as I recall, are able to have the full retroreflective style marks which actually reflect projected light along the lines of number plates, if that makes sense?  All others (breakdown, utility companies and the like) are allowed luminous/loud type colours but cannot be said RR style.

Been too long away from the legislation contacts to get a quick answer but would be worth an extended Google.

If its a Show or Film Car then yes, however the Blue cannot be reflective.

H21 and Chris are correct,

You can legally have blue and yellow battenburg on your vehicle, the yellow can be retroreflective, but the blue can't be.

I am currently restoring an '03' Omega, for me I can have retroreflective markings as it is a preserved police vehicle, and not an everyday car.

RVG graphics can supply retroreflective kits. An Omega kit costs around the £1000 mark, not sure for partly non reflective bits.
