Work on the astra tomorrow.
« on: 17 April 2012, 21:27:59 »

Well as most people know the omega has gone and i now have an 02 plate astra. Had it for just over a month and ever since then all i seem to see are ruddy omegas!

Anyway doing some work with pete tomorrow. I changed the oil just after i had it but its having another oil and filter with GM fully synthetic 5w30, new plugs, general check over, Throttle body, Breathers, crank breather cleaned and relavant gaskets replaced and one of the front brakes is binding every so slightly. Should keep my mind off wanting another omega for a few weeks ;D

Touch wood everything is going fine with it. After a month and 800 odd miles im enjoying the drive, Good mpg for a 2.2 and it looks and sounds nice. It just doesnt purr like my creamy V6.

Any how should feel even better after a bit of tlc.

Is that the right oil? I thought that was only advised for post 2004 cars with low mileage...

Alot of people recommend it due to the cam chain oil drip nozzle blocking up.

I ran my V6 on the fully synth thinner stuff from the day I got it.

The 2.2 in the Astra/Vec was spec'd to have it from day one  :y

That's good to know :)

Well many thanks to Pete for doing the above work. Breathers and throttle body were not too bad but after a very good clean along with vauxhalls excellent fully synthetic and new plugs car feels a little crisper.

Oooh am I right in thinking you got rid of an Omega and bought an Astra?

Won't be long before there's a V6 parked in your drive again hehe
