frankenstein seats possible??
« on: 17 April 2012, 17:28:20 »

is it possible to take the mechanics (and maybe frame?) of a set of FL elite seats , and hybridize them with a set of FL Mv6 electric seats ?

to get the memory function, and so on?? but keep the lateral support and pull out leg support...

i'm guessing it would involve a fair bit of fiddly assed work,  just wondering if anyone's done it ....

(i'm guessing there's some loom and an extra ECU somewhere to be dealt with as well..... )

about to fit an auto dipping mirror ,  thus the pondering....

It has been done, but involves some welding.  If electric back is not required, I understand its easier.

You'd need to use MV6 seats from a FL. The base mech could probably come from anything.

Think the OP was intending to use his own seats (F/L MV6) ;)

Elite seats don't go as low as mv6 seats, due to all the gubbins undernieth. So either loose some head room, or find a way to re jig the motors so the seat goes lower to match mv6 seat hight.

(personally I find mv6 side bolsters on the base uncomfortable. So was wondering If mv6 seat back would fit elite base with all the gubbins... But only if I really did have nothing better to do. :-\ )
