Filters
« on: 19 April 2012, 17:03:30 »

Finally got my TC up and running again with local dealers. I know, took long enough  :-[
Anyway, got some oil and a filter, but there were no pollen or air filters in stock. Was told they could only be ordered in lots of 3 and 5 respectively, so he wouldn't be able to get me one! Whilst I can sort of see his point, I was a little disappointed.
I'm going to check some of the local factors tomorrow, but I know Halfords do filters too. Has anyone used them?

Pattern filters are generally more stingy on the filter material, so not as good. Can't believe they won't order in a small quantity like that.

My next call would be to AndyC for some genuine ones, although he mentioned that he won't be around for a week or so.

Yeah I thought of Andy, but appreciate he has other concerns at the minute.
I'm in no real rush but obviously not enough Omega owners locally to warrant keeping a stock. At £17 and £18 each, I couldn't afford to buy the boxes, so will probably have to look elsewhere anyway  :-\

I went to my dealer for an oil filter today - he looked it up and got the price, so I paid for it, but when he went to fetch it, he discovered that he had none in stock. He apologised profusely, told me the oil filter would arrive in the morning, then threw me a fuel filter, muttered something about being embarrassed and told me 'that would fit my car'. Very strange - I don't even need one  :-\

That's what I thought Rob. I guess he initially quoted retail.
Just realised there is another dealer not too far away. Guess I could always chance my arm there?

Just had a service done at Wells Tyres and they were able to source a carbon pollen filter for mine if that helps.

BTW noticed you have pictures of your car parked in Ashbury car park posted up in the gallery. They did a fanastic repair on your boot lid.
