Particle filter
« on: 27 April 2012, 17:47:31 »

Hi all, driving my 2.2 diesel 03 reg this morning the exhaust warning light came on and i suffered a drop in power, after about 2 mins it cleared itself, then about 20 mins later it came on again, this time it cut out. I got it restarted and managed to get to work. I rang the aa and they came out , the machanic said it was the particle filter, and said if it comes on rev the engine to about 3000 rpm and it should clear itself, is this an easy repair and how much , have also noticed fuel comsumption is down , thanks for any help

You need to get the fault codes read first, anything else is guesswork
