Leaks.....
« on: 28 April 2012, 13:08:38 »

I've got a couple of leaks (oil and coolant) that are dripping down the back of the engine on the left.  :-\

I've checked the HBV, coolant bridge, thermostat and all the coolant pipes but can't see where its coming from...... For the oil, I've checked the cam covers and breathers and both were fine.... :-\

It's been suggested that there are core plugs on the back of the heads that might be leaking and I've stuck my hand in the gap between the dispack and the head and could feel wetness there....  :-\

Is the core plug suggestion likely? It's done 210,000 miles.  ::)

Thanks!!  :y

Got a similar coolant leak here as well ,although as yet not had a dry enough day to fully investigate.Similar age and mileage.

Will do a cold water pressure test when things show signs of a dry day and hopefully it will be evident.Fingers crossed its not core plug or H/G leaking just coolant on edge.

Have resisted the temptation to put any quick seal additives in coolant ,but given mileage might be option now !
