For the past several weeks, the park position of the wiper arms on my daily shed has been getting higher and higher. This morning it was up to about 30 degrees. I'd read this :
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1291058047 : But, the last time I tried to get the wiper arms off I couldn't find my puller. And in any case the LC was in the shed being worked on. So it's a job I've put off and put off.
Got a long trip tomorrow from Zunny Zummerzet to darkest dreary Shropshire. Filled up with Morrisons finest 90 octane on the way home from work, and (obviously unusually for Zunny Zummerset) there was a light sprinkle of rain. Turned the wipers on intermittent, and they parked at 45 degrees afterwards. However, they then stay there, and no amound of wiper stalk waggling will restart them.
Got home and manually forced them back to somewhere close to the correct park position. Then they work, and keep working till you turn them off again. Then then seem to park at a random angle somewhere between 45 and 90 degrees, and won't restart again. I can force them back down and they work till they next stop.
Given tomorrrows weather forcast is even grimmer than it normally is for the north (i.e. everywhere north of Shepton Mallet) the chances of me getting away withiout working wipers is nill. So, are there any bodges i can do to defeat whatever is going on? Or am I going to have to do the trip in my only other alternative - the old dears 1.0L Corsa Life?
Cheers
Malcolm
