After 3 months of a loan car......
« on: 02 May 2012, 18:41:37 »

My Scudo is back on the road again.........

I know i said 3 months ago it wasnt going to get another penny spent on it after the engine failed....

But when i looked at the figures, it was worth more repaired then sold as basically scrap.

It went to a diesel specialist in Bristol....who took the engine apart to find out what had broke and to give an estimate to repair the engine..

His quote for repair.....£3k  :o
New engine from Fiat....£4k  :o

Second hand engine £1400 ......so thats what it got  ::)

Still its only got to last me a month.....then its getting chopped in for another 9 seater  :y .... an 08 plate Traffic, which i know ive had one before....and it didnt go anywhere near as wrong as this Scudo.......

Said many times before, a diesel engine is as good as its oil change routine.

5K is the ideal for them or the oil ways get clogged, the turbos fail and then the engine lets go.

You should have told me that, when it had 2 new turbos fitted within 3 weeks , last Dec/Jan  ::) :)
