And I'm in no position to buy it.. damn!

Facelift manual with the 2.5TD engine rather than the 2.2DTi... Been waiting for one of these to turn up for ages, and this one has to turn up right after I spent my money on something else  >:(

I told you to use a hacksaw rather than buy all the fancy stuff for cutting that bolt. ;D ;D ;D :-*

Aye Max, technically I was waiting for an Elite, too .. but those seem to be rare as rocking horse poo!

:P :P To be fair, the hacksaw goes faster than the air saw  :( though I couldn't get the hacksaw onto the bolt I eventually used the air saw on :)

It's always the way. My Black 3.2 turned up at the worst possible moment...although I was delighted it did, thanks to Josh.

Elite estates are rare anyway, never mind with a diesel lump.

Yep, but I like the toys in mine.. although having said that, the sat nav doesn't work and the air con packed up.. so what toys would I really be missing out on. Hm, the fancy electric seats, I suppose.

to be fair,  my Mv6 has all the cool toys the elite has,  (inc funky mirror,  CID and a fully working 2013 , and the leather etc etc etc ....  what i miss about the elite is the self levelling.....    for work related purposes, the Mv6 is a good "drive"  but it's a lot less useful when pretending to be a van than my previous elites were.

which actually thinking about it,  i assume this motor does not have....  making the exercise pointless.......

i fancy a 2.5td for economy reasons,   at 1.42 a litre , i'm starting to wince when i fill the tank from empty.    i recall moaning about it in my Sennie days,  when petrol passed 40p a litre.       when fuel was 49 p a litre i was commuting from north wales to high wycombe and back on a  regular basis... .....

given a decent diseasel base to work from, i could potentially add all the toys......  i guess.....

and before Tunnie pipes up,  nothing on earth will convince me to get a bloody 4 pot.....

Economy is the only reason I think about switching, too ;) I know I could LPG the V6, but I'd end up with a tiny toroidal tank (because I refuse to lift the boot floor and eat into the 'useful' of the car) and sod all range..

Self levelling, though, is fantastic - shove anything in the back and it just gets on with it; an entire 7 litre iron block Ford V8, in fact. Although it struggled to level with 400 carpet tiles in there :-[

A friends 2.2DTi CDX has self levelling though, I'm sure.. maybe this one does too.

We have had 3 4 pots and recently got a 2.6, swmbo drives this on a daily basis and she is no slouch, she only knows off and on......Commented on by a couple of male friends last weekend when she gave them a lift, and one of them runs a garage..... ::) ::) ::) Checking the computer she is averaging 26 mpg on her 6 mile commute and a 40 mile, each way, full on motorway drive to and then back from the caravan (Static) at the weekends................ I struggled to get this figure in a 2.2 and her car fly's in comparison, took me a long time to change to a V6 but never back to a 4 pot here....... :D :D :D
